Surprising news from the UK is that a team of scientists doing research on blackjack card counting, may prove to be better than the popular blackjack card counting team of MIT who were displayed in the movie “21″.

They claim that they are in it only for the science of the game (everyone wants to make money). These computer scientists hailing from a chief English University receive research funding to carry out their research work based on cracking casino games.
During their first work they have proved that they are able to identify casino card shuffles based on efficient computers and the software written by them. If they can replicate the same effort in real time blackjack casino games they could achieve a 10% edge over the casino.
The scientists have preferred that their identity is not revealed for now. They have been investigating many offline and online games for past three years.
It is conceived that card shuffling in online casinos is done through random card distributions. But the insights show that card distribution in land based casinos hold hidden prototypes and could offer clues on the cards falling in blackjack, even if a professional shuffles the cards.
Two research groups have been offered doctorates for their research. In a math conference to be held in Las Vegas during spring 2010, the professor of the research group is going to present a talk on the subject.
Base on the new grant the research group have plans to carry out their work on:
• Simulation of shuffling
• Simulation of stock markets
• Trading along with climate modeling
This group have progressed hugely in their research and have found patterns in casino games.
