Blackjack is such a popular game that you will find it in all online casinos and in all land based casinos around the world like in the London, Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Macao. The blackjack rules in each of these places may be a bit different from one another but the variety of games usually provides players with a lower house edge.
All online casinos offer blackjack games that are very similar to the rules followed in land based casinos. But in addition, online casinos also offer a number of exotic blackjack games that are not available at land casinos. These online blackjack game variations are not only new but they offer players a whole new bunch of benefits and are very interesting to play as well but maybe they should be avoided… let’s see why…
Blackjack Switch is one such variant of blackjack. In this game the player is allowed to play two hands and is given the option of swapping the second card dealt in each of these two hands. Take for instance; one hand is dealt with a 7 and the then a 9 which totals to 16. This total is not good to stand at and is equally not advisable to hit. Likewise, in the second hand he is dealt with 10 and a 2. Now again, it is critical to make a stand on this total or hit as there are chances of getting busted. With the option of switching cards the player can very well hit on 7 and 2 on his first hand and gladly stand at the total of 10 and 9 on his second hand. Thus the option of switching cards cannot be taken lightly. But there is a price to pay! If the player gets to a total of 22 his hand results in a Push not a Bust. This reduces his advantage by 10%.
The second variant is Double Exposure. The player’s cards are dealt face up with a clear target in mind. The normal rules does not allow a player to hit on a 17 but here if the dealer has a total of 18 then instead of losing the player can hit on his hand. In this game the dealer will win for all hands that result in a tie.
For me, if you like blackjack, then stick to the simple versions where you stand a really good chance if you use the correct blackjack strategy.
